On 19 and 20 May 2025, the SEAFAIRER consortium gathered in Espoo, Finland for its 30-month project meeting, hosted by our partner VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland.
The two-day meeting provided an important opportunity to review progress and discuss the next steps in the development of sustainable marine fuels. Key updates and technical developments were shared across several work packages, including:
- FCC co-processing: ongoing activities and results
- Process design, green tracking, and digitalization
- Hydroprocessing pathways and advancements
- Fuel validation, standardization, and certification progress
- Roadmap toward sustainable business models and market uptake
In addition to the discussions, we had the opportunity to visit VTT’s pilot facilities, gaining first-hand insight into the testing infrastructure supporting the project’s innovation goals.
