Aiming to reduce the carbon footprint of fossil fuels in the transportation sector, the refining industry is increasingly focusing on existing infrastructure. As part of the European REFOLUTION project, W. R. Grace (Grace) is providing its catalyst expertise to evaluate how conventional refineries can support the production of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and the marine sector.

As a technical and consulting partner, Grace is actively participating by providing catalyst samples, supporting testing activities, and offering strategic input. The primary objective is to understand how established technologies, particularly fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) and hydrotreating, can be adapted to renewable feedstocks while ensuring maximum plant reliability and preserving their value.
