#2 WEBINAR: Building Social Acceptance for Biofuels and Carbon-Neutral Fuels in Europe

On December 11, 2025, the REFOLUTION project presented its perspective on the social acceptance of biofuels and zero-emission fuels in Europe in a webinar organized in collaboration with several projects from the #SustaFuelsCluster (CAPTUS project, COCPIT project, NIAGARA EU, and SUSTEPS).

For the REFOLUTION project our colleague Nina Wessberg (VTT) presented the results of two workshops conducted within the project:

🔹 Expert Workshop at EUBCE 2024, Marseille, France
🔹 Citizens’ Workshop in Tampere, Finland (May 2025)

These events revealed that for the stakeholders involved, biofuels represent a key transition solution, but their future success depends on ensuring transparency, ensuring the sustainability of feedstocks, and creating effective economic incentives to make their cost affordable for consumers.
