2026 represents the last year of REFOLUTION, and our goal is to achieve the planned milestones and deliver the results of the extensive analyses and research carried out so far by all partners.
To date, we have shared work related to:
- Identification of the main contaminants in pyrolysis oils
- Modification of the VTT CFB unit (20 kg/h) at VTT
- Summary of test specifications of BTG Bioliquids, in collaboration with SINTEF
These activities have been presented through factsheets available here.
Among the project milestones we have achieved:
- FCC process conditions and catalyst optimization for maximizing co-feeding and kerosene yield
- PDU readiness for larger-scale SPO production
- Catalyst production (30 kg) for SPO production
- Establishment and verification of spectrometric measurement operations
In the coming months, work will continue on fuels for the high-fidelity evaluation of marine fuels supplied to UROS colleagues and the analysis of optimal hydroprocessing conditions for FCC kerosene for the production of ASTM-compliant aviation fuel.
In 2026, the project will also participate in several events, including EUBCE 2026, which will take place from 19 to 22 May in The Hague, the Netherlands.
